What is collected
If you subscribe, your email address. Nothing else is asked for and nothing else is required.
What it is used for
Sending you SubstanceIQ, roughly once a week. It is not used for anything else, it is never sold, and it is never shared with a third party for their own purposes.
Who processes it
The letter is sent through Buttondown, which stores subscriber addresses and delivery records on the author’s behalf as a processor. Buttondown records whether an email was delivered and opened. That information is used only to tell whether the letter is arriving.
How long it is kept
Until you unsubscribe. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link, and using it removes your address.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, object to its use, or ask for a copy. The fastest way to erase it is the unsubscribe link. For anything else, ask through LinkedIn.
The site itself
These pages set no cookies and run no analytics or tracking scripts. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives the request for the font file. Hosting is on Cloudflare Pages, which keeps standard server logs.
Changes
If this notice changes materially, the change will be mentioned in an issue rather than made quietly.
